What is VR?

Virtual reality or virtual realities (VR), also known as immersive multimedia or computer-simulated reality, is a technology that replicates an environment, real or imagined, and simulates a user's physical presence and environment in a way that allows the user to interact with it. Virtual realities artificially create sensory experience, which can include sight, touch, hearing, and smell.

VR is finally being accepted into main stream business models for many companies. The very essence of being able to experience an action or event without having to disrupt or act with the actual event. Through the use of  VR, users can find and avoid costly mistakes and deliver an idea or concept in the most realistic presentation possible. SIMULATION / PreViz

Entertainment Simulation

An example of this is used to program and Pre-Visualize a concert. In this application a exact computer model is generated of the performance stage with all elements from lighting to effects, video and scenic even animated performers can be included. This model is then connected to appropriate control consoles such as lighting boards, media servers, motion controllers, etc. The result is to achieve  all programming task that would normally be done at a rehearsal studio with trucks of equipment and teams of personnel, instead in the quiet and comfortable confines of your office or living room.

Entertainment Simulation or Pre-Viz has shown huge leaps in application, acceptance and cost over the past 2-3 years. The   key limitations have been  speed and realism, limiting fixture counts and other elements have been the only way to conserve processing power.
